Only treat if the patient is symptomatic.
- Treatment: Metronidazole 750 mg three times daily for 10 days (children: 50 mg/kg/day divided in 3 doses, max 750 mg per dose)
- ​Test-of-cure: Re-test only if still symptomatic and if no other cause for the patient’s symptoms has been identified.
